Proactive Teachers and Future Leaders of Grade 5

First two weeks in Social Science and Science

Social Science and Science

During the first two weeks  of school, students have been taught about the importance of CIVIC SENSE and UNDERSTANDING THE UNIVERSE in Social Science and Living Things in Science.

In Billabong High International School,  Social Science is important in developing investigation and critical thinking about issues affecting the world and people’s lives, in the present and future.
Similalry, Social Science  curriculum is developed in a way that inspires students to think about their own values and responsibilities to other people, to the environment and to the sustainability of the planet. Discussions and debates in the classroom offer the students the possibility to think critically and creatively about current issues in the world.
During the first and second week of the science lesson, students have been introduced to LIVING THINGS AND NON LIVING THINGS. In the third week, students  will do experiments in the class.

Here are some pictures of the students as they discussed in their groups about the survey they conducted. Afterwards they created posters to decorate the classroom.
